The old board tried it and it never worked (the fact it was hidden away in a corner never helped!) I know were pretty much split here 50/50 singers v non-singers so, a question for the singers...if we were to have a block (or two) as a singing section what block(s) would you go for? (Also please try to be objective and not just select your block, please select the one you think would be best for spreading the noise, getting others to join in etc) feed.back Thanks guys and girls |

What if the STs and regulars in a particular block are anti-fun, and the STs and regulars in another block are all happy smiley types? They'll vote for their preference won't they ? It would be better to say if the ground was empty, no seats sold yet, where would you put the singers? At the moment the blocks are already occupied by people with a preference  |

the same applies for the other movement people talk about though. Ie people say put away fans in the main stand...what about the people in the main stand with season tickets? Also family stand keeps moving, again upsetting those who sat in other places before. **thumbup |

should be the blocks nearest the away fans (for us 39,40, that area) like most other grounds |

what is a 'singing section' anyways? ... surely this would mean 3/4 of the ground will be silent?... while a small 1/4 will be singing all game  |

Yes mate, but its like away games. You've been to a few havent you, so you know at away games 2/3 thousand blues fans singing all together can make a noise to fill the stadium. At the moment at home, because a few people sing in a lot of different areas it has a scattergun effect leading to little (if any) noise around the ground, while the away fans (again only a few of them but all stuck together) sound massive. If we were all together the noise we would make would also sounf massive - most grounds have singers cramped together. Norwich it is the right of where the away fans sit behind one of the goals, forest is to the right of the away fans, derby is to the left (i believe) etc |

That is a point you have there matey... imagine if we could have a crowd like we did at derby every game, it would make the home matchday experience much better **thumbup Im all for it now! :D (im easily bribed) |

You're missing my point. If any change is to be made, it must be before any tickets are sold, and any displaced person is offered equivalent price seats elsewhere. That is about the away fans. For a singing section it is so trivial I can't really see a problem. It isn't as if people are stopped from singing is it. It isn't as if they can only sing in one section. Surely it is up to how people feel, whether they sigh or moan, cheer or sing, a lot is derived from what happens on the pitch, not by a regimented song list in one section. :D |

I'm sorry but a singing section is a silly idea that will never work, that's the reality. |

Should be block 9 and 11 but would not be fair to move those who don't sing as there are alot of people up there who have had their season tickets for years. |

just a question is the view from Blocks 7 or 11 any different...is the seat in row whatever better in one block than any other ? Block 9 is slightly different as it is more or lesss right behing the goal whereas the other two are either side so to speak..is the view better in row 40 than it is in row 21 ? In my humble opinion some people want to be where the atmosphere is generated but contribute nothing toward it... :banghead: |

Spot on! Some fans have moved in around us towards the back of block 3. I assume they are there because the atmosphere is pretty good. However, they sit there with out making a noise. Even when we score they stand and clap, but nowt else. So why sit there? Go sit in the Kop and give me some room to jump about. |

STAND IF YOU LOVE THE BLUES! I sat in different places to see matches over Xmas. The Man Utd game I had to stand up at the back in the Kop corner because all around were standing and singing. Hated it! The Chelsea I sat between to really fat guys (had to sit at 90 degrees to the seat ) who didn't wanna sing, didn't wanna talk! Hated it more!!! < < Stood and sang all the way through the Derby game on Saturday - loved it! :P |

I don't see the point in a singing section personally. Everyone will sing when we score anyway. |

if we were to sell season tickets for a Block rather than a particular seat that would allow groups of pals to sit together....... |

:applause: excellent points bluejan It seems a lot on here are Simon Cowell wannabees and want to manufacture a singing section. The singing, like the roots of KRO as long back as 56, is spontaneous. Supporters heard it sung and started themselves...the rest is history. No forums to manufacture it. As bluejan said it is up to each and every individual in the crowd. |

I agree I don't like the idea of a "Singing section" Since the all seater stadiums were compulsory atmospheres have changed for the worse. I would love to see standing terracing re-introduced but that will never happen. For those that never experienced it you really did miss out. |

a singing section was always created by the fans who chose to congregate in that area..ie top of the old kop had two main areas and the tilton had one..But in those days everyone was pretty much free to move to and from those areas, which isnt the case any longer. i dont want to manufacture anything artificial, just go back to an area of the ground that allows like minded fans to congregate..Blocks 7,9 and 11 could all be sold as a season ticket for that block as opposed to a particular seat..It would encourage fans into the ground earlier to get seats together and create an atmosphere prior to kick off.. |
